On no! That reminds me of a time in highschool. I could not start my car and couldn't figure out why. The principal even came out to try and help me and all my friends were gathered around. We tried for awhile. Until I realized I hadn't put it in park before taking the keys out earlier! The car wouldn't start until I put it into proper gear. 😅 I didn't even know it was possible.
I loved this, Patricia. I laughed out loud at the toy Yoda. One of my favorite Yoda quotes is "There is no try. Only do or not do." Love that you can write a full-length, interesting article we can all relate to and enjoy with you. Blue💙
OMGosh, too funny. And I anticipated that the "music" wasn't from the Toyota catalog.
I could definitely see that happening to me, though it probably would be a chirping emitting from my phone--I am a complete phone idiot. I have to hand it off to my 9 year old grandson to turn off after the GPS gets me where I want to go.
I love older cars. Those that have keys. Those that are sturdy, somewhat equipped with tech - Bluetooth is nice for podcasts off my phone. It will be a sad day if my 2015 Subaru Outback ever gives up the ghost. I’ve babied it like the precious object it is. That said - i laughed to tears with the discovery of the “not a Toyota” sound. This summer the blue beast gets its annual detail cleaning to keep the light upholstery looking almost new.
What a fun read! I was one step ahead of you on guessing the origin of the sound. I had a similar thing happen recently with a beeping inside the house. I checked all the known beeps - smoke alarm, refrig open, and all that. It turned out to be a little kid toy that one of the grandkids had hidden from the other but the grandkids werent' around to tell me that! Thanks for the early morning chuckle!
I've been looking at all the Prius's the last one I looked at. They said they replaced the battery a couple of years ago. It was quite expensive. I'm wondering yours is quite old at this point have you ever had to replace the battery and if not, you know how much of a charge it's still holding thanks. I don't often get the opportunity to speak to someone who else owns a 15-year-old Prius. Thanks again.
Well my understanding is that there are actually two batteries: the usual kind all cars have, and the kind that allows it to run electrically. I've only had to replace the "regular" battery twice in 17 years! I imagine that, sooner or later, the expensive one will have to be replaced. The expensive one also recharges itself every time the brakes are used.
Oh wow, thank you for the laugh! I am going into the garage to check my Toyota and find out what is supposed to be its signature sound.

Thanks Blue! What an embarrassment…
So hilarious - I read this aloud to Patrick, and he laughed, too. I also love your toy Yoda. 😂😂😂🥰😘
Stay tuned for the "Toyota Sound!"

Thinking of a Prius for my next vehicle. Hmm, will have to inspect the special noises. 😎
Yeah! Check them out! (I LOVE my Prius though!)

Oh Patricia. Thanks for this lighthearted, funny read. I’m happy nothing serious was wrong with Ruby. I have a 12 year old white Prius named Angel. 👼
